I went to the Chinatown market in London last Sunday. The first thing I did was to go to one of the Chinese green grocers’ shops. As soon as I entered the shop, I smelt mixtures of Chinese spices and saw the new season’s fruits. My son wanted a bag of sweets,so we walked into the shop next door which sells many kinds of candy.
There is a lot of noise in the Chinatown market and you will see many tourists, too. There are a lot of cars and trucks that never stop beeping(按喇叭).while people are loading and unloading their goods, most of them have their cars and trucks parked in the middle of the road. This causes great trouble for other drivers,Can you imagine that?
After we had done all our shopping, my son and I went to a restaurant for lunch.we enjoyed our meal very much. But the shopping made us both very tired in the end. We headed down the road to catch our bus home .My son and I enjoyed riding in the bus.we also enjoyed looking at different buildings and people walking by dressed in fancy outfits(服装).Although Chinatown can be a busy place to shop in, I do enjoy going there now and then.I can buy some of my necessities, and i can also look and browse(浏览)around the other shops and department stores where I can indulge(使沉迷)myself with some nice things. Chinatown is located in the heart of central London, where you can find tons of shop and other places to amuse you.And for me, I certainly don’t mind going back there again soon.

It is well said that strength and courage aren’t always measured in medals and victories. They are also measured in the struggles we experience. The strongest people aren’t always the people who win but the people who don’t give up when they lose.
It’s been said that Andrew Jackson’s boyhood friends just couldn’t understand how he became a famous general and then the president of the United States. They knew of others who had greater talent but who never succeeded. One of Jackson’s friends commented,“Why,Jim Brown ,who lived right down the pike(山峰)from Jackson, was not only smarter, but he could throw Andy three times out of four in a wrestling match. But look where Andy is now.”
Another friend responded,“How did there happen to be a fourth time?Don’t they usually say three times and out?”
“Sure, they were supposed to ,but not Andy.He would never admit(承认)he was beat-he would never stay’ thrown’.Jim Brown would get tired ,and on the fourth try Andy would throw him and be the winner.”
Andrew Jackson just wouldn’t stay“thrown”!And that determination served him well for many years.
Life will knock us off our feet again and again. But some people just won’t stay“thrown”.They get up again, dust themselves off and go for it one more time. These are people of courage. They are also people of faith and hope. maybe you have been knocked off your feet. Will you stay “thrown”or will you rise and give it your best one more time?

An earthquake is one of the most common natural disasters. It may cause great damage. So it is wise to learn some simple safety tips to protect yourself or your family members.
Fragile items like those made of glass are easily broken and should usually be placed on a lower surface, near the ground instead of placing them in the cupboards higher up.Never place them near your bed, sofas and other furniture where you would be sitting or lying down. When there is a strong movement ,these pieces will fall on the floor directly and not on you.
There is a strong chance of short circuits and fire during an earthquake.Make sure you turn off electrical connections and gas immediately when an earthquake happens.
During an earthquake, lie beneath an object that is not easily damaged.Do not go near objects that could directly fall on you.Never use the elevator to go down.Stay inside until the shaking stops and it is safe to go outside.Research has shown that most injuries happen when people inside buildings try to go out.Use the staircases(楼梯)at all times.
If you are outdoors,do not take shelter under a tree, streetlights, electric poles or tall buildings. If you are driving, stop your car and stay in a safe place,Do not park your car under a tree or any tall object.
If trapped in debris, cover your mouth with a handkerchief(手帕)or clothing.Tap on a pope or the wall so rescuers can find you Use a whistle(哨子)if one is available.Never shout for help.Shouting can cause you to breathe in dangerous amounts of dust.Do not light a match because you may burn yourself .Do not move about or kick up dust.
