教学目的：
本课程设计指导学生阅读有关专业的英语书刊和文选进一步提高阅读英语资料的能力，并能熟练的掌握英语工具，获取专业所需的信息，本课程选材内容均来自于原版英文科技书刊、杂志、重要的文摘科技论文，文献资料等，文章不仅新颖,连贯性强，语言规范，纯正，文体多样,题材广泛,而且突出体现科技英语的篇章结构特点和词汇特点，通过本课程的学习和实践使学生能提高语言基础，熟练和逐步适应书面语体的特点和表达形式,能顺利的阅读所学专业的英语资料并培养对难度较高的科技文献有准备的理解能力，具有一定的翻译能力和文献阅读能力。

教学要求：
本课程同时采用灵活的教学方式在提高阅读能力的同时，启发和创造环境使学生在用英语理解的问题的同时,用口语表达讲解和讨论并培养具有一定的听力，力求在教学中体现英语学习中听、说、读、写有机的整体。
要求掌握一些基本的专业科技词汇(1500个)
