C:I am afraid not.
O:May I have his initials,sir? We have two Smiths registered.

O:Just a moment , sir. I’ll put you through to his room.
(The telephone rings for 50 seconds)
O:I’m sorry, sir. There is no answer from the room.
C:I’ll call later. Could you tell me his room number?
O:I’m sorry, sir. We’re not allowed to disclose our guest’s room number.
C:Then may I leave him a message?
O:Certainly, sir.
C:I want to ask Mr. Smith to dinner tonight and I’ll meet him at Tianxiang Court at eight o’clock.
O:I’m sorry, sir. Could you speak more slowly.please?
C:Sure.I want to meet Mr smith at Tianxiang Court at eight o’clock tonight.
O:Can I have your name, sir?
C:Johnson.
O:May I repeat? Mr Johnson asked Mr Smith at Tianxiang Court at eight o’clock tonight.
C:Exactly.
O:I’ll relay the message to him as soon as he comes back.
C:Thanks a lot.
