表示一…就…的结构

一、hardly/scarcely…when/before, no sooner…than　和as soon as
都可以表示一…就…的意思，例：
　They had hardly / scarcely got home when it began to rain.
　They had no sooner got home than it began to rain.
　As soon as they got home, it began to rain.
　注意：如果hardly, scarcely 或no sooner置于句首，主句必须用倒装结构：
　Hardly / Scarcely had they got home when it began to rain.
　No sooner had they got home than it began to rain

二 一些名词，如the moment, the minute, the second, the instant,
等也可引导一个时间状语从句，相当于as soon as的意思。
He jumped off the couch the moment the telephone rang.
电话一响，他就从沙发上跳起来了。

三. immediately, directly, instantly, 也可引导时间状语
They phoned me immediately they reached home. 我们刚到家电话就响了。

四、on /upon n/g
1. On arrival, the singer started singing.
2.Upon hearing the good news, children jumped with joy.

五. 介词短语
1.at the sight of ：一看到…. 就….
At the sight of the snake, the girl drew back. 一看到蛇，那女孩就往后退缩。

2. at the sound of: 一听到…. 就….
he started at the sound of a gun. 她听到枪声，吓了一跳

3.at the thought of: 一想到…. 就….
He was frightened at the thought of his coming exam. 他一想到即将到来的考试就惊恐
