It is known to all that the ability of adjusting to society and be good members has become increasingly essential in today’s society. Some people firmly maintain the idea that parents should teach children about this while the others disagree with this idea. I will take both of the views into careful consideration and give my own conclusion at the end.

On one hand, it is reasonable to think that parents have responsibilities to do this. That is because we live with our parents since we are born, and learn most ways of dealing relationships from our parents, compared to school education, which only makes up a small part of our whole life time. When in school, we are separated from society, only meeting our classmates and teachers. While together with parents, we encounter various kinds of people, helping us to enhance society cognition.

On the other hand, people who advocate school have the main duty also have their convincing evidences. To be more specific, school plays an irreplaceable role in children’s education. Even though schools only occupy several years of children’s life, they teach them at a period when children learn things most effectively and efficiently. This youth time is of significance to build attitudes and values towards life, and can affect people’s habits and characters easily. So schools have more effects on children’s ability in society and certainly have most of the duty.

To sum up, I prefer to combine both parents and school’s effects, focusing on their different effects on children differently.
