Dialogue 1
M=Mabel J=Joe
M: We’ve got a holiday coming up in October. Where would you like to go?
J: I was thinking of just staying at home and getting some things done around house.
M: That’s so boring! Let’s go somewhere!
J: Where would you like to go?
M: We could go to Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, or Singapore.
J: You always want to go places, but you know, we never spend any time at home.
M: But the weather will be so gloomy here then. Let’s go somewhere where we can sit on the beach, drink, and read books.
J: I’m not one for beach holidays, but I do have a few books I’d like to read.
M: Great, so you’ll go?
J: Maybe. How much are tickets to these places?
M: I can call some of the travel agencies today to find out. Once we get there, it will be pretty cheap.
J: What kind of place do you want to stay in? An expensive hotel or a cheap hostel?
M: How about something in-between? Accommodation is pretty cheap in all of these countries.
J: Ok. Let me know what the travel agents stay and then we can make a decision.
