This lively city –once a small fishing village –is today an international business centre. It is an interesting mix of East and West, old and new. Modern tall buildings are next to small temples. Popular nightclubs are close to traditional teahouses. Busy people fill the streets at all hours of the day. But outside the city, there are parks for walking or relaxing. Hong Kong is famous for its wonderful native dishes. There’s also food from Europe, North America, and other parts of Asia. However, this small city has a large population. Nearly seven million people live in Hong Kong! That’s why housing is often very expensive there. Traffic and air pollution are also problems.

Elephants are wonderful animals. They have very strong legs. Their legs are like trees. They usually walk slowly because they walk very quietly.
The elephants living in the mountains usually stay together in big families. Usually one old elephant leads them. The others follow their leader. They like eating plants. Because they are very big animals, they need to eat lots of leaves, grass and tree bark. So they spend most of time looking for food. When it is hot, they go to sleep under the trees or get into water. Elephants are kind animals. When one of them is hurt and cannot walk well, the other elephants would help it to walk.
